By exploring and cultivating these different aspects of ourselves, we can elevate our consciousness and achieve greater strength in mind and body. As a result, we can approach the world with a sense of purpose, understanding, and compassion. The following pages contain the art of this balance - a philosophy that welcomes scrutiny and questioning because it is grounded in the perfect harmony of balance. By practicing it, we can awaken our power to improve ourselves and the world around us. And indeed, the world needs to be better, from the ground up and through our individual actions. Let us embrace the practical, beneficial, and rational intelligence that this philosophy offers and put it into action. Philosophy is not just a set of clever words; it is a way of life.
The Art of Balance is a comprehensive volume that comprises my reflections and teachings as a Grand Master Martial Artist. Originally planned as individual booklets for the Earth, Water, Fire, and Air elements, these have now been combined into a single edition. I take pleasure in sharing my words with you and trust that we can all achieve balance together. May you find as much enjoyment in reading these pages as I did in writing them.
